4 Reasons You Should Consider A New VW Golf For Your Next Car

The Volkswagen Golf is a familiar sight in many countries around the world. Millions of examples get used by motorists each day, and they have something of a cult status in some ways. People buy Golfs for various reasons. But, why should you consider buying one?

Are you looking for a new car soon? If so, the thought of buying a Volkswagen Golf may have crossed your mind. Here's why you may wish to consider one for your next vehicle.

#1 They are ideal for growing families

The Volkswagen Golf isn't just a car for solo motorists or couples. It's also a useful and practical vehicle for those with children in tow. From the outside, the Golf might not seem like a big enough car. But, once you step inside of one and take a seat, you'll soon change your mind!

Even in the rear seats there is plenty of room for adult passengers. The boot space is also ample enough for a lot of cargo. That means you can fit your suitcases in the back when you're driving to the airport, ready for your holiday!

#2 They are stylish

The thing about small and medium-sized family cars is that some of them just look ugly! I'm pleased to report that has never been the case with any of the Golfs built. One reason for its worldwide success is down to how stylish they are on the road.

Even the older generations still "fit in" with today's modern environments. You might think that you'd have to buy a sporty version like the GTi to have a stylish car. But, what you might not realise is that even the base models look brilliant!

#3 Manual or automatic? You decide!

Another selling point of the Volkswagen Golf is that you can get them with a manual or automatic gearbox. Even the old mk1 and mk2 Golfs were available with automatic transmissions!

These days, gearbox technology has come a long way. Manuals have six forward gears, for a start. And the automatics are of a dual-clutch design. That means you can also shift up and down the gears as if it were a manual. The only difference, of course, is that there's no clutch pedal.

Although I'm a fan of the trusty manual gearbox, I do prefer VWs with the DSG (dual-clutch) auto. They aren't like the old "slush boxes" of the 1970s. That means they shift gears in a smooth and efficient manner.

#4 They are cheaper than the competition

One notable fact about the Volkswagen Golf is that they are cheaper to buy than competing models. Sure, they might cost a lot brand new, but then so do most cars!

Still, even though they are cheaper, it doesn't mean they are inferior. It just means VW has enormous buying power! And, thanks to that fact, they can pass on savings to their customers.

So, when will you go out and get a Golf? I recommend taking one out for a test drive. I guarantee you’ll fall in love with the Golf!
