How to Own A Jaguar F-Type S for £5,608 a Year

Fancy driving the car of your dreams for 85 days of the year, without the hassle of maintenance and at less than a third of the cost?

It might sound too good to be true, but that’s exactly what new car sharing service Orto is offering London-based car lovers – starting with the Jaguar F-Type S.

It’s a simple concept. You co-own the car with up to three other security-checked Orto members, and the car is yours for 85 days of unbridled driving joy. There’s no chance of car hogging; the online booking system makes sure everyone gets their fair share. On the day of your booking, the car arrives at your chosen address, primed and ready for the road. No maintenance, no dealing with insurers. Orto takes care of it all.

Orto is the brainchild of Josh Darling and Jules Copeland who, as lifelong petrol heads, are familiar with the harsh reality of driving the dream. “I had a Porsche Cayman S, which was amazing, like nothing I’d ever driven before,” explains Josh. “But it sat there unused a lot of the time – depreciating by the day and costing me time and money in maintenance.”

None of the alternatives – car clubs or leasing – quite hit the mark. So Josh and Jules decided to create a new model for car ownership. “Basically we designed a service that will make people like us happy,” says Jules.

“The booking calendar is designed to give you the control and flexibility to get the most value from the car. The all-inclusive fee means there are no nasty surprises. We take care of the more time-consuming parts of ownership, so our members truly just get the upside.”

That upside is co-owning and driving an F-Type S for £5,608 a year – a one-off payment of £2,499 plus £379 a month for 23 months – compared to £35,200 to lease one. Orto’s plans don’t stop at the F-Type: they’re about to add more cars and are asking for your input on which cars to offer next. Find out more about how it works, check out the booking calendar or register your interest for other cars at www.orto.uk.com.
